EXPLANATION OF THE DESTINATIONS PAGE
Using the Map
Sightseeing Sofa works with Google Maps. There is a world map on the left-hand side. Using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ on the top left corner, you can zoom in and out of the map. See other parts of the world by 'dragging' your cursor: move over the map while holding your left mouse key.
The Pushpins
On the map, you see different colored pushpins.
| 1. | Yellow pushpins are suggested destinations that you can still vote for. |
| 2. | Green pushpins are destinations on the final itenerary. For each of these destinations, an Activities page exists where you suggest and vote for activities. There is a line going from one green pushpin to the next: the black part has already been traveled, while the orange part has yet to be seen. |
| 3. | The red pushpins, last of all, are the destinations that didn't make it into the final route. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to visit these places during our journey. |
Click on a pushpin to be taken to the corresponding location-page.
See the destinations, add your comments and vote.
There are several ways to navigate through the destinations.
The easiest way is to click the pushpins on the map.
In the center of the page, you can give your opinion on a particular
destination; just click 'Write Reaction'.
On the right side of the screen, you can vote. Simply select either 'Yes'
or 'No' and click 'Vote'. Here you can also see the number of members that
have endorsed this destination so far.
Add a new location
You can add a new location by clicking on the bottom right of the screen on 'Add Location'. This will lead you to a new screen where a brief explanation will appear to the right. On the left will be the map, and a form for names and comments.
Other features
The top 3 destinations are on the upper right, while the most recently added locations are on the bottom right. These are all clickable links to help you navigate over the map faster. Last of all, you can switch between the map and a picture of the current location by clicking on the top left. The picture will also be visible when looking at activities of this location.
